For over two decades, Cal Adventures, the Outdoor Experiential Education program of the University has helped thousands of school aged children and area schools discover the great outdoors and experience adventures close to home.
Designed to work in partnership with elementary, middle and high school educators, parents groups, schools and youth groups to meet the following program goals:

Whether experiencing sea kayaking on the Bay, rafting on the American River, exploring, camping or back packing in area National and State Parks, Cal Adventures will transform your next youth event into the adventure of a lifetime.
Cal Adventure’s proven experiential – based programs are custom designed to focus on your organizations priorities in the areas of team building, creativity, communication, trust, change, growth and most importantly fun! Custom programs can be designed for single or multiple days and for small to large groups.
As a full service organization we provide, trained and certified staff, permitting and reservations, quality equipment low participant to instructor ratio’s, quality facilities and when applicable food and transportation.
A sampling of past custom programs for school groups we’ve facilitated include:
- Point Reyes and Tomales Bay Adventure with 90 high school students. Adventure activities included: kayaking, hiking, beach activities, and environmental education camp fire and evening programs.
- Team Building with area middle and high school students on the high and low elements rope course.
